Western powers support ‘21st century Hitler’ against peaceful Iranians: Maduro

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro condemned the Israeli aggressions on Iran slamming France, Germany, Britain, and the US, for supporting “21st century Hitler,” referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, against noble, peaceful Iranians.

“We say no to war and declare our full solidarity with the peoples of Iran, Palestine, Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon, and with all Islamic and Arab peoples,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Maduro described the Israeli attack on Iran as a “criminal assault on the people of Iran that violates international law and the United Nations Charter, and threatens the Middle East with a dangerous escalation whose consequences are unknown.”

He said that Israel was “created to invade the Middle East and Central Asia, to seize their resources, and colonize their peoples.”

“No to war, no to fascism, no to neo-Nazi Zionism,” he concluded.

Similarly, Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Saturday. It held Israel and the US responsible for the consequences of “an unjustified war against Iran.”

The statement described the attacks as “flagrant violation[s] of the United Nations Charter and international law, particularly the principles of sovereignty and the prohibition of the use or threat of use of force against the territorial integrity of any state.”

It asserted that Israel’s aggressive policies are sustained by financial, military, and political support from the US, which poses a direct threat to international and regional stability.

It emphasized Cuba’s complete solidarity with the Iranian government and its people. It warned about the dangers of further escalation that could trigger a wider regional conflict.

It urged the international community, especially the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), and Security Council (UNSC) to act swiftly to halt the aggression and hold Israel accountable for its actions.
