Tanzanian Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa, has met with Japanese Prime Minister, Ishiba Shigeru, where they have agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries with the aim of stimulating economic growth through opportunities arising from the relationship.
In their talks held in Tokyo today, May 29, 2025, Majaliwa said Japan, through JICA, will continue to collaborate with Tanzania in implementing development projects, while calling on Japanese investors to invest more in the country.
Majaliwa also requested the Japanese Government to collaborate with Tanzania to repair the Morogoro-Dodoma and Kibiti-Lindi roads that were damaged due to heavy rains, something the Japanese Prime Minister promised to work on.
The Japanese Prime Minister has praised the existing cooperation and promised that Japanese companies will continue to collaborate with Tanzania in promoting the economy, social and technological development, recognizing the country's population growth.
