400 CHILDREN ENTERED INTO SPORTS, GEITA
The 'Mwamba Mine' mining company in Geita region has initiated a special sports club program to bring together children and youth to develop their talents and promote the games of soccer, hoops and basketball.
In addition to sports, the company also plans to provide various training opportunities for young people, by providing them with jobs and experience so that they can become economically independent.
The initiative, launched with a demonstration in Nyarugusu County starting with over 400 children and youth, aims to end hazardous child labor, vagrancy, and criminal gangs.
