The Geita Regional Police Force has identified the presence of some traditional healers and alternative medicine practitioners who are abusing their position by humiliating and harassing women under the pretext of medical treatment.
Geita Regional Police Commander, SACP Safia Jongo, made the announcement during a public meeting held in Nyakagomba Village, Geita District over the weekend.
Following the incident, the Police Force has vowed to take strict action against all those who hide behind the guise of "doctors" to perpetuate sexual violence.
