Retired Prime Minister, Mizengo Pinda who is also the Chancellor of the Open University of Tanzania (OUT) has said the government and Tanzanians have high hopes for the university in its contribution to providing education and called on the university to be a catalyst for bringing about change in education and national development in general.
The Open University (OUT) Chancellor said this while welcoming the university's new vice-chancellor, Professor Alex Makuliro, and bidding farewell to the retired Professor Elifas Bisanda.
In addition to Pinda, the Chairman of the Open University Council, Prof Joseph Kuzilwa, also spoke at the event.
