Citizens have been advised to pay attention to environmental hygiene by avoiding throwing away waste, especially plastic, as such waste has had a significant impact on aquatic and terrestrial organisms, human health and the environment in general. This was stated today in Dar es Salaam by the Director of the Complaints Unit from the National Environmental Management Council (NEMC), Jamal Barit, while speaking to journalists regarding the 'World Oceans Week' celebrations which this year will coincide with 'Environment Week'.
