Citizens have continued to be encouraged to come forward voluntarily to donate blood with the aim of increasing the safe blood bank fund as the need is still great compared to the blood collected on World Blood Donation Day.
According to the Safe Blood Coordinator in Shinyanga region, Joel Mbare, the blood collected was 869 units while the demand was 1,121 units in the first quarter of the year.
