During the presentation of the Government's General Budget in the House of Representatives, the Minister of Finance of Zanzibar, Dr. Saada Mkuya Salum, said that Zanzibar's economy is estimated to grow by an average of 7.3 percent in 2025, compared to 7.1 percent in 2024.
Among the indicators of this growth is a 12.6 percent increase in tourist arrivals from 736,755 in 2024 to 829,929 in 2025. This growth is expected to be driven by sound fiscal policy management as well as improved access to oil and gas, a move aimed at reducing the cost of these fuels for citizens.
