The ACT Wazalendo and CUF Zanzibar parties are expecting to hold a referendum within the parties to find candidates for various positions ahead of this year's General Elections.
ACT Wazalendo Elections Director, Mhene Rashid, said more than 1,000 members have come forward to contest for the positions.
For his part, the Deputy Secretary General of CUF Zanzibar, Ali Juma Khamis, has confirmed the party's participation in the elections, while emphasizing their position of demanding a New Constitution and an Independent Electoral Commission.
