The Tanzania Institute of Education (TET) has awarded primary and secondary school teachers who performed well in teaching skills in the country, for the third time for primary teachers and the first time for secondary teachers.

The awards were presented today, June 14, 2025, at the Library Hall located within the University of Dar es Salaam.

Giving an introductory speech, TET Director, Dr. Aneth Komba said the competition involved teachers of mathematics and science subjects such as physics, chemistry and biology for Form One, targeting teachers at the council, regional and national levels.

This year, TET collected 10 videos from 184 councils and received a total of 1,840 videos for competition.

Among the criteria used in selecting the winners was the government's use of ICT in teaching.

The innovation competition in teaching and learning is part of the strategy to strengthen the implementation of the new education curriculum.
