Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) is set to launch a practical training programme for the year 2025/2026, which will provide graduates with the work experience needed in the market. The launch is expected to take place on June 6, 2025, in Geita, and will be attended by government representatives from the regional and national levels.
This program aims to provide graduates with practical skills needed in a competitive job market, as part of GGML's efforts to invest in human resources within the Geita region and Tanzania as a whole.
According to GGML, this program is part of its strategy to continue supporting the professional development of young people, especially during this period when the nation is facing the challenge of unemployment among young people aged 16 to 34.
The program was piloted in 2009 and fully reinstated in 2017. Since then, 258 graduates have had the opportunity to participate, of which 34 percent have been employed long-term by GGML, while the rest have found employment in various sectors of the economy in the country.
Charles Masubi, GGML's Senior Human Resources Manager, said that the aim of the program is to contribute to the development of the nation's workforce by providing graduates with real work experience and the professional standards required in various sectors.
