The Tabora Regional Police Force is arresting Daud Delim (49), a resident of Mbagala 'A' in Igunga district, on suspicion of calling himself the Chief of Police.

Tabora Regional Police Commander, SACP Richard Abwao, speaking to journalists, said they have arrested Daudi for allegedly conducting an interview that was circulated on social media with the aim of misleading and stated that appropriate action will be taken against all those involved.

Deputy Minister for Transport, David Kihenzile has commended the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) for successfully managing the implementation of strategic projects that continue to improve the country's aviation sector on behalf of the Government. Speaking during his visit to inspect projects in the Lolkisale area, Monduli district, which is one of the implementation areas of the Voice Communication Project between Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers (VHF), Kihenzile said TCAA has shown true commitment to improving air services, which increases safety and efficiency in air transport. "These measures are part of the government's vision to ensure that Tanzania becomes an aviation hub in the African region. Following the installation of four modern air surveillance radars, we are now increasing the capacity for direct communication with pilots, a step that raises the level of safety and control of our airspace," the Deputy Minister stressed. The VHF communication project, which cost 31.6 billion shillings, is being implemented in 18 major stations and 12 auxiliary stations across the country. According to Project Manager, Engineer Francis Chale, implementation has reached 90 percent and some of the equipment has already begun operating during the trial period. During the visit, Kihenzile also visited Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) and witnessed first-hand the working environment of air traffic controllers and how new infrastructure is making their jobs easier.
