#NEWS: The Speaker of the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania who is also the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Member of Parliament for Mbeya Urban, Hon. Dr. Tulia Ackson, has announced his intention to contest for Parliament in the new constituency of Uyole in Mbeya region in the General Elections to be held in October this year.
Dr. Tulia made the statement today, May 23, 2025, while addressing the Special General Meeting of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) District, where he said that he had decided to make the decision to serve the people of Uyole due to the slow pace of development in the area.
"The development of Uyole is moving very slowly, I have found it advisable to dedicate myself wholeheartedly to ensuring that the people of Uyole receive appropriate services and rapid development. I appeal to you, many people will come to you, choose a leader, choose a servant, it will help a lot to continue to accelerate the development of the community," said Dr. Tulia.
