#NEWS: Organizer of the East African Gospel Music Awards (EAGMA) Magreth Chacha, continues with a tour to announce the awards in Kenya and Uganda immediately after it was launched last month in Tanzania by the Executive Secretary of the National Arts Council (BASATA).
Speaking to journalists in Nairobi, Kenya, the organizer said EAGMA connects artists, fans and various stakeholders in the Gospel music industry from East African countries.
He said the purpose of establishing the awards includes harvesting souls for Christ through the power of Gospel music, especially for young people who often stray into singing secular music.
“We strive to create music that will bring about lasting change in celebrating the talents of religious music.
"This Gospel Awards event for East African countries is the first such event that has never happened before and brings hope, inspiration and faith that come together in celebrating the power of gospel music," said Chacha.
