#NEWS: Tanzania's Vice President Hon. Dr. Philip Mpango, has said that in order to combat the scourge of hunger and poverty as well as accelerate rural development, it is good for nations to work together since these issues are a scourge that transcends national borders.
The Vice President made the call while delivering a speech during a discussion on "The International Alliance Against Hunger and Public Policies for Food Security" at the second Brazil-Africa Conference on Food Security, the Fight against Hunger and Rural Development held at the Conference Hall of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters (Itamaraty Palace) in Brasilia.
He said the effects of poverty and hunger are very serious and have affected the African continent the most despite the presence of sufficient resources, for which he commended the President of Brazil, Hon.
Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, for the efforts he initiated to unite nations and promote closer cooperation between rich and developing nations.
The Vice President said Brazil will become a good partner for African countries in crop farming and rural development due to the use of technology in the country.
