The Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office responsible for Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disabilities, Ridhiwani Kikwete, has called on the community to be given more education about tender opportunities allocated to special groups through public procurement. Speaking at the PPRA conference held in Arusha on June 16, 2025, Minister Ridhiwani said the Government has laid a solid foundation to enable youth, women and people with disabilities to participate fully in the country's economy. He explained that the government has taken six important steps to empower these groups, including a legal mandate to allocate 30 percent of all public tenders for special groups, a move aimed at promoting an inclusive economy in the era of digital transformation. Minister Ridhiwani said one of the biggest challenges is the lack of public understanding about the existence of funds generated from public procurement, so it is important for councilors, directors and local government leaders to be fully involved in the provision of such education. In addition, he said these efforts have begun to show success, with special groups now coming forward in large numbers to benefit from the 10 percent loans provided by the council from domestic revenue. ✍ Our Author Editor @claud_jm #AzamTVUpdates
