Minister of State in the President's Office, Finance and Planning, Dr. Saada Mkuya Salum, has presented the Central Budget of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar at the 27th session of the 19th meeting of the House of Representatives, held at the council's hall.
In the budget, the Government has planned to spend an amount of 6.98 trillion shillings, including Central Government and Local Government Authority revenues. It has also been stated that Zanzibar's economy is expected to grow by 7.3 percent in 2025, compared to 7.1 percent in 2024, while the number of tourists is expected to increase by 12.6 percent from 736,755 to 829,929.
This growth is expected to be driven by sound fiscal policy management, as well as the availability of affordable oil and gas, a move that will help reduce the cost of living and stimulate economic development.
