In a move to enhance access to important information for the public, the Government has waived value added tax (VAT) on all newspapers produced in the country only.
The aim of this step is to reduce printing costs and disseminate information more easily to citizens.
This measure is also expected to increase Government revenue by 1,274.4 million shillings through a wider circulation of newspaper business and increased production.
