The Minister of State, President's Office (Planning and Investment), Professor Kitila Mkumbo has stated that the arts and entertainment sector has led the way in growth by 2024, growing by 17.1 percent.
He mentioned that the other sectors that followed with the highest growth were the manufacturing sector, the transport and electricity distribution sector which was at 15.4 percent, while information and communication recorded a growth of 14.3 percent. In addition, the finance and insurance sector as well as the health sector have also shown positive trends and contributed to the improvement of social services and economic infrastructure.
Along with these rapidly growing sectors, Prof. Mkumbo noted that agriculture, construction and mining and quarrying were the three main sectors that accounted for almost half of the national GDP growth.
