The government has announced the results of the 2024 national survey on violence against children and youth, showing a decrease in incidents of violence compared to previous years.

Speaking during the presentation of the report, the Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr. Dorothy Gwajima said that although incidents have decreased, a few still continue to occur and affect children and youth, especially in the area of mental health.

The study involved more than 11,000 children in 31 regions of Tanzania, aiming to provide a true picture of the situation of violence in the country and support strategies to protect children.
