Masasi District in Mtwara Region has banned the transportation of pre-school students using bodabodas. This measure was taken after it was discovered that some children aged five and above were suffering from health problems including pneumonia linked to the use of such transport.
The decision aims to protect the health and safety of young children and encourage parents to use safer modes of transportation for their children.
