Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa has called on the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) to take strict action against products that do not meet quality standards, stressing that the Government aims to ensure that all products sold in the country are of good quality, safe and productive for the consumer and the national economy.
He said this on June 4, 2025 after laying the foundation stone for the construction of a laboratory and TBS office building in Njedengwa, Dodoma.
He has urged local manufacturers to follow testing procedures, verify quality, and improve their production systems, to ensure products are produced to the required quality.
Majaliwa also reminded traders and importers to ensure that the products they bring have a quality mark from TBS or recognized institutions, with the aim of protecting the health and safety of citizens.
