Stakeholders in fruit and vegetable farming from within and outside the country under the Vanguard Global Development Foundation, have met in Dar es Salaam to discuss a strategy aimed at reducing the loss of vegetable crops, while strengthening mutual cooperation between them.
Speaking during the meeting, the Acting Manager of the Tanzania Plant Health and Pesticides Authority (TPHPA) Eastern Zone, Dr. Mahamudu Sasamalo — who represented the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture — said the Government is committed to increasing productivity and ensuring the safety of crops from the farm to the final consumer, in order to increase farmers' income.
