#NEWS: Deputy Minister of Energy, Hon. Judith Kapinga, has said the Government has provided a subsidy of 20 to 50 percent, on approximately 452,445 LPG gas cylinders to end users as an effort to encourage the use of Clean Cooking Energy.

Hon. Kapinga said this in Parliament in Dodoma, while responding to a question from the Member of Parliament for Special Seats, Hon. Grace Tendega, who wanted to know what short-term strategy the Government has to ensure that Rural Citizens use Clean Energy for cooking instead of Firewood and Charcoal.

"Mr. Chairman, the Government through REA will also distribute 200,000 smart stoves at a discount of up to 75 percent as well as facilitate the installation of clean energy cooking systems in Public Institutions serving more than 100 people." Kapinga said.
