In Parliament in Dodoma during the presentation of his Ministry's Budget for the Year 2025/26, Dr. Kijaji noted that the level of milk consumption per person has increased from an average of 67.5 liters in 2023/2024 to 68.1 liters in 2024/2025, meat consumption from 16 kilograms in 2023/2024 to 17.6 kilograms in 2024/2025 and egg consumption from 107 in 2023/2024 to 119 in 2024/2025.

In addition, Minister Kijaji added that despite the increase, the consumption of these products per person has not yet reached the levels recommended by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which are 200 liters of milk, 50 kilograms of meat and 300 eggs.
