Over the past two days, Israeli strikes have killed more than 90 Palestinians, including women and children, as the occupying regime intensifies its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced late on Saturday that hospitals across the Gaza Strip had received at least 95 bodies and treated 304 wounded in the past 48 hours.
The Israeli strikes mainly targeted Palestinian refugee camps in the Gaza Strip’s neighborhoods of al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah, al-Bureij and Jabalia as well as the southern areas of Rafah and Khan Younis.
Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis received 33 bodies on Saturday, while six were brought to al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir el-Balah. Another 36 bodies arrived at al-Shifa and al-Ahli Arab hospitals in Gaza City.
The ministry underlined that many victims remain beneath the rubble or on the streets, unreachable by civil defense teams and ambulances due to continued Israeli air aggression.
The casualties occurred during Eid al-Adha, one of the most significant holidays in the Muslim world that is observed with congregational Eid prayers, the ritual sacrifice of livestock, and the eleemosynary distribution of meat to the needy.
The death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 54,772, mostly women and children, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the besieged Palestinian enclave in October 2023. At least 125,834 others have also been injured.
Medical sources confirmed that 4,497 civilians have been killed and 13,793 others injured since March 18, when the Israeli occupation resumed its onslaught on the Gaza Strip after shattering a 2-month ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
Since the Israeli violation of the truce deal in March, nearly 616,000 people have been displaced, many multiple times.
