The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Deputy Commander Brigadier General Ali Fadavi says the force is operating normally despite the assassination of its chief commander in an Israeli strike, stressing that all capacities have been utilized as part of preparations for a retaliatory measure against the occupying regime.
“The IRGC is prepared in every scene, and present on the resistance front to take regretful action against the Zionists at the proper time when we are asked to do so,” he said Friday.
Fadavi added that late IRGC chief commander Major General Hossein Salami long sought to embrace martyrdom, emphasizing that all IRGC servicemen are willing to sacrifice their lives for this noble ideal.
“We had waited for years to take on our duty. Everything is operating as normal within the IRGC. All capacities of the IRGC and the Armed Forces have been employed to carry out retaliatory action,” he pointed out.
“This is a practice that has been common since the beginning of Islam. We have not lost even a 24-hour spell to respond to a day like this with appropriate action.
“This action is ongoing in all its forms, to take regretful action against the evildoers of the world and the criminal Zionists at the right moment and when it is announced to us,” he added.
Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, IRGC chief Major General Hossein Salami, Commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, and six nuclear scientists, including Mohammad Mahdi Tehranchi and Fereydoon Abbasi, were martyred in the Israeli strikes early Friday.
