AZAM MEDIA WINS APPEAL IN 'VITASA CASE'
The High Court of Tanzania has ruled in favor of Azam Media Limited in a copyright lawsuit filed by boxer Amos Mwamakula.
Previously, the Kinondoni Court ordered Azam Media Limited to pay the boxer 250 million shillings, after claiming that the company took his idea for the "Boxing Kazi Kazi" boxing show and used it under the name "Vitasa".
However, the High Court, after hearing the case, ruled in favor of Azam Media Limited based on copyright laws.
Lawyer Neema Mbaga, representing Azam Media, said the victory enables Azam TV to continue its activities of broadcasting programs related to boxing and professional boxing matches.
