A soldier of the Fire and Rescue Force in Morogoro region, Sergeant Ramadhani Katonga, has been awarded a special certificate of commendation by the Minister of Home Affairs, Innocent Bashungwa, for his courage in rescuing five children who were surrounded by water in the Morogoro River. Sergeant Katonga rescued the children on March 26 this year, after the river suddenly filled with water while the children were washing clothes by the riverbank. At the commendation ceremony, Sergeant Katonga expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government for recognizing his contribution.
