Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) has convened to plan continued retaliation against the Israeli regime’s hostile acts.
The meeting was held on Friday afternoon, shortly before Iran’s initial retaliatory response to the Israeli regime.
Chaired by the head of SNSC, the meeting reviewed pre-approved plans regarding sustained countermeasures against any hostile acts by the enemy, with emphasis on their full implementation.
According to a statement from the Council’s Secretariat, the session also assessed domestic preparedness measures and adopted necessary strategic decisions.
In a terror attack early Friday, the Israeli military assassinated senior Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists, while martyring more than 70 civilians – including women and children.
The Tel Aviv regime further escalated its aggression by launching large-scale attacks inside Iran, striking nuclear sites, military installations, and civilian residences across Tehran and other cities.
Iran launched its retaliatory operation “True Promise III” following the Israeli attacks by firing a barrage of missiles toward the occupied Palestinian territories on Friday night.
The operation began immediately after the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, delivered a televised message, saying that the “despicable” Israeli regime would be “rendered helpless” following reprisal by the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces.
Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said at least 150 targets were struck during the retaliatory operation against the Israeli regime, including several critically strategic military bases.
Israeli media, citing regime officials, report “unprecedented destruction” in Tel Aviv following Iran’s successful retaliatory military operation.
