US-backed aid plan aims to advance Israel’s ethnic cleansing of Palestinians

Palestinian resistance factions say Israel’s US-backed aid distribution strategy in Gaza is aimed at accelerating the regime’s “crime of forced displacement and ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Palestinian resistance groups said aid centers run by Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) had “turned into death traps and snares,” where scores of civilians have been killed while seeking food and essentials.

“These deceptive centers have become daily massacres and slaughters before the eyes and ears of the entire world,” the statement added.

It said the aid centers are “carrying out a suspicious intelligence security role and have caused the martyrdom of more than 126 of our people who are suffering from famine due to the criminal Zionist siege.”

The Palestinian groups called for humanitarian aid distribution to be returned to international bodies, primarily the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

“The primary objective of what are called American aid distribution centers is to end UNRWA’s mission,” the statement said.

The United Nations’ major aid organizations have refused to participate in the new aid mechanism, warning it risks displacing Palestinians and increasing the dangers they face.

UNRWA’s chief has said in a recent statement that Israel’s alternative aid model is a “distraction from atrocities” against Palestinians.

More than 100 people have been killed by Israeli fire while seeking aid at aid distribution centers since May 27, according to aid workers and Palestinian officials.
