Despite plastic waste being an economic opportunity for some people, it has been cited as a major source of environmental damage and a cause of health impacts on humans, animals and aquatic organisms.
In order to control this, the National Environmental Conservation and Management Council (NEMC) – Morogoro-Rufiji Zone, has said it will conduct various activities including providing education to the public to control the use of plastic waste and thus avoid its impacts.
